Meliora Project

On October 3rd, 2025, the MELIORA Mid-Term Review Meeting took place with the participation of all project partners, the Project Officer from HaDEA, and the European Commission reviewers. The meeting marked a key milestone for MELIORA, providing the opportunity to present the progress achieved so far and to demonstrate how the project is advancing toward its vision of promoting healthier lifestyles through the MELIORA Virtual Coach Interventions (VCI).

The day began with welcome remarks by Ms. Jacqueline Whyte (HaDEA), followed by a tour de table that brought together all project partners and showcased the strong interdisciplinary collaboration that drives MELIORA. Prof. Yannis Manios, the project’s Scientific Coordinator, offered an inspiring overview of the project’s vision, highlighting the significant steps made in both research and implementation.

Throughout the meeting, partners presented the project’s evolution — from stakeholder engagement and ethical management to the development of the Virtual Coach platform and the preparation for upcoming pilot implementations across Europe. Demonstrations of the platform and early tools illustrated how MELIORA is shaping a human-centred, adaptive, and evidence-based approach to digital health support.

The reviewers and Project Officer expressed very positive feedback on the project’s progress, acknowledging the quality of the work, the cohesion among partners, and the strong scientific and ethical foundations of MELIORA. The discussions provided valuable input for the next phase, focusing on refining the tools, implementing the pilot studies, and further enhancing the platform’s usability and impact.

The meeting concluded on a highly optimistic note, reaffirming MELIORA’s commitment to developing innovative and inclusive digital health solutions that empower individuals to adopt and sustain healthier habits.

The next steps will involve the implementation and evaluation of the MELIORA Virtual Coach Interventions, allowing the consortium to validate the system’s effectiveness in real-world settings and gather insights for broader deployment.
