BioAssist SA is a Greek SME specializing in the development of advanced digital health solutions, focusing on Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) and assisted living technologies. Through its integrated IoT-enabled platform, BioAssist connects patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals, ensuring continuous monitoring and proactive management of health conditions.

As an active partner in the EU-funded MedSecurance project, BioAssist contributes its expertise in remote monitoring systems, interoperability, and data management to advance the cybersecurity and safety of connected medical devices (IoMT).

Within the project, BioAssist fulfills its function as a use case partner by evaluating the MedSecurance Toolbox. The evaluation process involves testing and evaluating the toolbox through defined scenarios, including cloud and Bluetooth integration, safe FHIR compliant multimedia storage, and emergency response mechanisms, providing structured feedback to R&D partners

During the evaluation process, BioAssist has focused on:

✔️ Remote Patient Monitoring Use Case – Defining, implementing, and validating real-world clinical scenarios in collaboration with Hygeia Hospital. This involves integrating the MedSecurance toolkit into existing processes, and assessing cybersecurity challenges in live healthcare environments.
✔️ System Architecture & Risk Analysis – Designing the technical architecture of BioAssist’s solution by using the IoMT Modeling Tool and identifying potential security risks, vulnerabilities, and threats related to device integration, data communication, and user interaction, by using the TVRA Tool and Communication Recommendations Tool.
✔️ Regulatory Compliance & EU MDR Alignment – Contributing to the analysis of device classification and certification processes under the European Union Medical Device Regulation (EU MDR) using the Assurance Tool, ensuring that MedSecurance outputs align with real-world regulatory requirements.
✔️ Dissemination & Knowledge Sharing – Supporting the project’s outreach through publications, web updates, and social media activities, highlighting BioAssist’s contributions and promoting the MedSecurance vision of secure and resilient digital healthcare.

By bridging clinical practice, IoT technology, and cybersecurity research, BioAssist helps shape a future where connected medical systems are both innovative and secure — ensuring trust, safety, and continuity in digital health.
