Meliora Project
At the kick-off meeting of the MELIORA project, which took place on January 10 and 11, 2024, at Harokopio University, the key points and goals of the project were discussed. The project aims to reduce the risk of breast cancer through preventive measures and lifestyle changes. An overview of the project was presented, with particular emphasis on the development of a digital Virtual Coach, which will offer personalized guidance to promote healthy habits. These guidelines will focus, among other things, on reducing alcohol consumption and unhealthy foods, taking into account different social, cultural, and health factors.
Following this, the importance of this tool in enhancing users’ skills and motivation was highlighted, with the goal of lowering the risk of developing breast cancer. Additionally, in the first phase of the project, reference was made to the analysis of the social and cultural conditions of 2,080 participants from four European countries (Greece, Lithuania, Spain, and Sweden). Towards the end of the meeting, emphasis was placed on the need for a thorough analysis of the situation in these countries to ensure the desired outcomes of the MELIORA project. Finally, during the two-day meeting, the partners also discussed the project’s future activities and plans.
