
A fully automated system for posture assessment
The Artificial Intelligence for Posture Evaluation (AI4POSE) project is targeting the development of a reliable, and fully automated system for posture assessment. The system’s objective is to detect human posture accurately and identify postural misalignments, whether they occur in static positions or during dynamic exercises.
This initiative is designed to simplify and streamline the day-to-day operations of professionals working in the field. It achieves this by delivering an automated framework capable of performing precise and efficient posture evaluations. By incorporating automated assessment processes, the system holds the promise of drastically reducing the manual labor involved in posture evaluations while simultaneously elevating the overall accuracy of these assessments.
To accomplish this, the proposed system will harness the power of an accurate pose estimation algorithm that’s capable of discerning and interpreting human poses with utmost precision. In conjunction with this, the system will also utilize vector geometry techniques and machine learning algorithms for a thorough assessment of postural alignment.
Unlike conventional approaches that largely depend on predefined parameters for exercise evaluation, AI4POSE will adopt a more dynamic methodology. The system will extract the required parameters from a single instance of the exercise executed perfectly, thus allowing for a highly personalized and adaptable assessment process, tailored to the unique requirements and performance of each individual user.
